Hello! My name is Matt Lentine and I am the fourth grade teacher here at St Germaine. Along with the fourth grade classes, I teach fifth grade science and religion. St Germaine is such a great place to work! All of the staff and students are so welcoming and kind. I have been so lucky to work at a place that I love to come to everyday. I always try and make my classroom as engaging as possible so that my students enjoy coming to school as much as I do.
This is my second year of teaching. Before teaching, I attended Siena Heights University and received my degree with a social studies major with an elementary education minor. After I finished my education, I worked as a paraprofessional and building substitute at Madison Elementary School in Adrian, Michigan for the second half of the 2019-2020 school year. I loved being able to continue to help the students that I worked with during my student teaching for as long as I could. My childhood friend, Mr. Suminski, made me aware of the open position at St Germaine so I applied. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to start my teaching career. When I am not teaching, I am either playing or coaching soccer! I am currently coaching the De La Salle JV boys team, a 2014 boys team for the Nationals, I am assistant coach for the pro-am club Corktown AFC during the summer, an assistant for the girls program at Fraser High School, and I am the youth coordinator for LK St Clair soccer club. I also am currently playing for Detroit Union, a semi pro team in the Midwest Premier League. |
